How many things in the world are 18 minutes and 20 seconds long?

I've been told it's not thanksgiving if you don't play Alice's Restaurant:

  1. That's a tradition I haven't heard before. Last year most of the comments were about how to cope with relatives' politics; this year that's still there, but I'm not seeing as much of it.

  2. I'm not sure what it says about my background and upbringing that the phrase "How many things in the world are 18 minutes and 20 seconds long?" over at Slacktiverse condemned me to having this as an earworm today BEFORE I even clicked the link.

  3. Cjmr, yes so much about recognizing it immediately. Except that I instead exclaimed to my parents, who are still visiting, "Oh my goodness! You know what we forgot to do on Thanksgiving?" and they responded, "Listen to Alice's Restaurant!" Now I'm a bit disappointed and will go listen to it right away.

  4. Yes, I really am just getting around to listening to this. I often procrastinate on things that require earbuds. (The only reason I'm listening to it now is because I'm drowning out the Contagion movie Mom's watching. I still have plague nightmares from watching The Stand as a kid; I'm not making that mistake again.)

Anyway, thanks for the link. I'm glad I did eventually listen to it.

(Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go flee to the shower. It's out of earshot of the TV.)
