Update

When it comes to writing I'm sort of stuck at the moment, hence the lack of writing here.

When it comes to heating oil ... I have heat, but ... fuck.

To put that into more accessible terms
  1. The temperature of the house was dropping way too fast for me to feel safe waiting for heat until I could get the tank filled.  Recall that when my boiler needed to be replaced it was because the house spent a bit too long without heat which ended up cracking the boiler.
  2. Because of that I got a stopgap amount at at much worse price, but it did prevent any horrific catastrophe.
  3. I did not have the money to actually pay for the oil, so I used credit.  Oil companies really, really prefer cash or check.  Since I couldn't do that the price per gallon was higher than I expected.
  4. I think I underestimated the size of my tank by 20%, so there were more gallons to be put in than I expected because I told them to fill it.
  5. What I was expecting to cost $290ish dollars that I didn't have ended up closer to $390ish dollars I didn't have.
And all of this when I'm trying to find a way to adapt to living on $200 less a month and not doing the best job of it.

But, on the up side, I'm not freezing.

Also on the upside, I FOUND MY CAMERA!  Woo!

But back on the down side after I finally thought I was clear for the foreseeable future, not so much, and, just because my brain makes a habit of being unhelpful, my muses have all left, me.  Even the Kim Possible one that was the last muse to linger for the past ... um, three months maybe.

Oh, also, for some reason Paypal doesn't like scheduled recurring donations.  I don't understand why, especially since it tells people that it will do it (it was their idea for fuck's sake), but whenever someone tries to set up a recurring monthly donation instead of manually donating every month, what happens is this:

Paypal:  You have a new automatic payment profile for [nice person]
Paypal: Payment Skipped
----We cannot process the following recurring payment. We will try again in five days.
*five days*
Paypal: Payment Skipped
----We cannot process the following recurring payment. We will try again in five days.
*five days*
(process repeats)
Paypal: Fuck it, better luck next month
*next month*
Paypal: Payment Skipped
----We cannot process the following recurring payment. We will try again in five days.
*five days*
Paypal: Payment Skipped
----We cannot process the following recurring payment. We will try again in five days.
*five days*
(process repeats)

So, as much as I really like the idea of payments coming to me automatically every month, it doesn't seem to work.

I thought there was other stuff, can't think of what it might be.  I have a headache, I'm going to take Excedrin the moment this I post this.

  2. Sounds like a really annoying situation. I'm sorry for the way the oil company has treated you but like you said, at least you're not freezing! I'm sure you'll find your way through and get back to better times soon, get your boiler fixed and be back on track. Really happy for you that you found your camera again too!
