I knew a guy (coworker at the time and gamemaster of a D&D group of mostly work folks) who'd seriously modified a wheelchair to be "off road" for his wife (who had MS) so that she could enjoy things like Renfairs and even LARPing.<br /><br />People need wheelchairs for so many different reasons - long term and short term.
