So she wanted to pool our ordering so that the combined cost would be over X amount. Which has it's own issues of "Is this really how one is intended to use the coupon?" but they're somewhat less fraught, for me at least, than "It might look like I'm breaking the law."chris the cynichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06872875475212333027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3889388775673754833.post-39271075973740136522012-05-28T19:15:30.976-04:002012-05-28T19:15:30.976-04:00as far as anyone knows, the food stamps is for bot...as far as anyone knows, the food stamps is for both of you, and you are trying to stetch the budget. I mean, it wouldn't work for a two-for-one deal if you were going to each take one item, but if she's got a coupon for, say, coffee, and you're the only one who's going to buy it, wouldn't it be easier for her to just give you the coupon?Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09484225307026346601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3889388775673754833.post-15846625707121380122012-05-24T21:16:16.703-04:002012-05-24T21:16:16.703-04:00No, not unreasonable. Appearances do matter. And...No, not unreasonable. Appearances do matter. And I would say that goes double for public assistance types of things because so many jackasses are against them.

Now, as for how you could do it so it didn't look hinky, I'd say have one person do all of the paying, even if it's half cash/half food stamps card. Given that food stamps cards are generally limited in what they can be used on, people paying with one and another form of payment is very, very common. (At least in my state.) That, of course, would require a tad more planning.depizannoreply@blogger.com
